How to Cleanse your crystals

Healing crystals carry vibrational metaphysical properties which causes them to absorb and release energy. These crystals assist in spiritual awakenings, physical, and emotional healing. These crystals are used to unblock surrounding energies, and enlighten our chakras. As a result, regular cleansing after use is important to ensure that the crystal preserves its natural vibrations in alignment with mother nature’s energy.

Cleaning your crystals clears it away from any negative or inharmonious vibrations. Whichever cleansing method you choose to utilize, each method returns your crystal to its natural energetic state.

Smudging 🜂

Element: Fire

Tools: Sage, Palo Santo, Sweetgrass, and Rosemary.

Duration: 30 - 60 Seconds.

Safety: This method is safe for all crystals.

Smudging crystals helps remove any inharmonious vibrations within your crystal. This is best done outdoors or near a window allowing the energy to naturally dissipate. You can either hold your crystal in your hands or place them in a bowl in preparation for cleansing. Move the crystals through the smoke.

Sound 🜁

Element: Air

Tools: Singing Bowl, Tuning Fork

Duration: 10 - 15 Minutes.

Safety: This method is safe for all crystals.

Sound healing or cleansing is an emitted sound bringing energies into alignment and into the same vibration as the tone. This can be done with a tuning fork, singing bowl or chanting. Whatever your choice is, just make sure the sound is loudly emitted enough for the vibration to fully take please.

Water 🜄

Element: Water

Tools: Running Water, Salt Water

Duration: 30 - 60 Seconds.

Safety: Unsafe to use on brittle materials. Safe for polished, tumbled, and natural quartz.

Water neutralizes any negative energy. Water cleansing your crystals will neutralize your crystals energy returning it back to earth. Simply place your crystal in a stream of water. Make sure your crystals are fully submerged. You can choose to use natural running water like a lake, river, or ocean to cleanse your crystals. If you don't have access to nature's water your faucet will work just fine. When done, pat dry and place your crystal in its home allowing it to merge with nature's flow.

Salt water has been used for centuries to absorb unwanted energies and to eliminate negativity. If you do not have access to natural salt water, you may create your own. Simply pour some water into a bowl. Add a tablespoon of Himalayan Salt and stir it. Once the water eases down, speak your intentions into the water and submerge your crystals into the water. Leave your crystals submerged for 24 - 48 hours.

WARNING: This method is NOT safe for all crystals. Crystals of softer brittle makeup can crumble in water. Crystals like Malachite can become toxic when in contact with water.

Selenite 🜃

Element: Earth, Water

Tools: Earth Soil, Crystal Slabs

Duration: 24 - 48 Hours

Another method of cleansing your crystals is by placing them on a Selenite Slab, or in a Selenite Bowl. Selenite is crystallized gypsum which is a calcium sulfite dihydrate mineral that is a makeup of evaporated saltwater in mineral-rich marine soil environments. After a while, the evaporation process eventually forms solid deposits. Though Selenite is associated with the Water element, it is a creation that depends on mother natures soil which is the Earth element, hence her association to the Zodiac Taurus.

Selenite is commonly known for its cleansing and charging properties. Simply place your crystals on a selenite slab or in a selenite bowl, and let mother nature take her course.
